Project Ghoul CCG Rogue Build Guide

When going rogue as an investigator is worth the hunger-free kit — and when it is not.

CCG Rogue Build

A Kakuja-era patch changed how HP scaling works and explicitly told players it was finally worth going Rogue as CCG. That note still shapes mid-game investigator accounts: you keep the no-hunger kit, you keep Quinque and Arata tools, and you step off the “lawful farmer” rails into contested PvP and mixed-faction routes. This page is the third build lens next to Ghoul and standard CCG.

Rogue is not a second faction at character create. You still pick CCG on the save slot. Rogue is a playstyle and reputation choice after you understand Dave, Sasaki, and the quest ladder.

What “rogue” means in this game

Community usage covers three overlapping ideas:

  1. Combat identity — CCG stats (health, agility, damage — no hunger) used to hunt other players instead of only clearing Aogiri floors.
  2. Vendor / gear path — you still buy Quinque from Dave and Arata from Sasaki at CCG Headquarters, but you spend Materials on burst windows rather than raid-safe armor.
  3. HP scaling — the patch that made rogue “worth it” flattened the old feeling that investigators were made of paper compared with Ghouls. Race difference still exists; it is no longer a brick wall.

If a video mixes this with GHOUL://RE grief paths or 20 million RC, close it. That is another title.

When rogue is the right CCG save

Go rogue-leaning if:

  • You already clear Pink / Jake comfortably and PvP unlocked at level 150+.
  • You enjoy Mask on H burst more than long boss enrage holds.
  • You have a Quinque from the upper half of the tier list — Owl-class or a solid 1/24-style piece — so you are not fist-fighting T-Owl Ghouls.
  • You can stomach losing a quest streak when a sewer gank lands.

Stay lawful if you are still on Elisabeth or Joe, if you only log in for weekend buffs, or if your Quinque is still a quest green. Rogue does not fix a weak weapon. It only spends a working weapon on players instead of NPCs.

Stat block

Keep the CCG rule: no hunger points. Split the rest like a duelist, not like a sewer AFK farmer.

PriorityStatWhy
1DamageRogue lives on first-cycle kills. If the Ghoul eats and regenerates, you lost.
2AgilityDash (Q) and run cancel matter more than in Anteiku packs.
3HealthThe HP scaling patch helps, it does not make you a tank.

Arata is your lawful leftover — pop it when a Kagune combo starts, not as a default walk. Mask (H) is the rogue button; waste it on a White Suit pack and you will not have it for the investigator who followed you out of the manhole.

Skill keys stay Z / X / C. Learn which Quinque skill is blockable. Community Kajiri notes (holiday Quinque) include stun traps that grief other players as well as NPCs — read holiday events if you still own that kit.

Route that does not starve your levels

Rogue is a lens, not a replacement for quests. Suggested week:

  1. Weekday — one Champ or Jake loop to keep the account moving toward 850.
  2. Weekend — stack +30% XP, then spend the second half of the session in contested garage / sewer mouths.
  3. After a code drop — redeem on the Codes Hub, dump Materials into Quinque or Arata, then hunt. Boost timers in a duel lobby are a donation.

Do not skip Joe to “start rogue early.” Level 90–180 is still Construction math.

Matchups

  • Ghoul + Jason / Kuzen — they want to lock you in melee. Dash out, do not trade hunger-free face tanks into their stun.
  • Ghoul + T-Owl / Yasuhisa — respect AoE. Arata first, Mask only if you see a whiff.
  • Ghoul + Kakuja (R) — you cannot out-regen them. Disengage unless your Quinque has a hard interrupt.
  • Other CCG — this is a skill check. The HP patch made these duels longer; agility wins.

Open-world etiquette is optional. If you gank people turning in to Champ, expect the same on your next trade.

Remake caveat

Project Ghoul: re can delete the rogue HP note or add a formal reputation flag. Until Trello says otherwise, treat this page as live-build advice for the Combat Rework banner, not a promise about the rebuild. Re-read CCG build after any investigator patch.

Rogue is a CCG who finished homework and then walked into PvP on purpose. It is not a skip button.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for Project Ghoul players.

Is rogue a separate faction in Project Ghoul?

No. You still create a CCG save. Rogue is a playstyle after the HP scaling patch made investigator duels viable.

Does a rogue CCG need hunger stats?

No. CCG never spends points on hunger. Put them into damage, agility, and health.

When should I start playing rogue?

After PvP matters (around level 150+) and you can already clear Pink or Jake. Earlier than that, run the quest ladder.

What gear does a rogue CCG want?

A high Quinque from the tier list, Arata for defensive windows, and Mask (H) for burst. Dave and Sasaki still sit in CCG Headquarters.

Did a patch really say rogue is worth it?

Yes. The Kakuja-era notes said HP scaling changed so going rogue as CCG feels better. Numbers may shift again in Project Ghoul: re.
